Our story

McPhaden Motorsport entered the competitive track‑racing arena in mid‑2024. In our inaugural season, the team delivered standout results across both the Scottish Mini Cooper Cup and the C1 Cup, securing the Newcomers title in each championship. Our C1 campaign further demonstrated the team’s capability, achieving 3rd overall in the standings, supported by a race win and two pole positions along with two wins in the Mini Cooper cup and two pole positions.

Drivers

Gregor’s racing journey began in mid‑2024, sparked by years of watching his big brother Stuart rise through Auto grass—winning the 2017 National Championships, multiple Scottish titles, and later stepping up to the Scottish Mini Cooper Cup in 2024. Seeing that progression up close lit the fire for Gregor to jump into the C1 Cup himself, turning the idea of a two‑brother team into reality.

Our 2026 Plans

SMRC C1 CUP 2026

We head into 2026 with a full two‑car C1 team, pairing Gregor with newcomer Scott Charles, who joins us for the season in our race‑winning, fully prepped second C1. Scott is focused on getting up to speed quickly and mounting a strong challenge for the Newcomer’s Title, while Gregor sets his sights firmly on the Overall Championship. It’s a big step forward for the team and an exciting year ahead on and off the track.
